• a family affair - 10/22/16

Angela & Jim wanted an intimate family wedding and we set-out to make sure it was just that.  The couple's families began to arrive early and they all enjoyed a simple brunch of mimosas, croissants and fruit.  The backyard was transformed and the chairs were placed in front of a beautiful arbor that the bride and groom made by hand.   We decorated this special backdrop with gorgeous fall flowers and satin and then tossed fresh fall leaves down the aisle. The fall colors and lanterns made the space feel cozy and warm and even though it was brisk, no one complained;  they just grabbed a blanket.  Family traveling from California, New York, Columbus and Dayton gathered at this beautiful home to witness the long awaited union.  Shortly before the ceremony, I asked the groom if he was excited and he quickly responded, "I've been excited ever since I met her 9 years ago!"   Wow, he is a keeper!  The bride looked lovely in her lace dress, flowers in her hair and cowboy boots;  all perfect for this outdoor fall wedding.  The groom lit up as his bride walked down the aisle with both her sons on either arm and the ceremony that followed was simply beautiful.  There were not a huge number of guests and it wasn't grand and over-the-top, rather,  it was exactly what the couple wanted, simple and elegant!  After all, the most important people in their lives were there to witness their two lives being joined as one. They could not have been happier!  Both sides of the family, many meeting each other for the first time, had an amazing time.  After an intimate ceremony, an incredible appetizer spread and drinks, everyone shared stories and laughs then boarded a party bus to tour the couples' favorite Dayton spots.  The night was capped-off with dinner at Bravos and then back home to enjoy cake, dessert and to reminisce on a perfect day......  A beautiful family affair that we were honored to be a part of.  Congratulations Angela & Jim!
